5 Ways Macy & Tex Made Their DFW Wedding Extra Fun
Macy and Tex’s wedding at The Springs Venue Valley View was proof that the best weddings are not just beautiful—they're fun! And this couple was about as fun as it gets.
But I can't got on without passing on a little praise to Sterling Events & Design for bringing together one of most authentic celebrations of a couple I've ever seen. With adorable cakes, rhinestone cowboy hats, show-stopping florals by From A to Z Design, a late-night coffee cart, sneakers, sparklers, and a packed dance floor, every part of this celebration brought personality and energy. Here are five easy ways to make your wedding guest experience more memorable.
1. Have Your Cake and Eat it Too
I’m partial here—my wedding cake was a giant latte mug. But Tex may have officially out-caked me, because I’m fully obsessed with this Rubik’s Cube cake by Sugar Bee Sweets.

And Macy’s? Out-of-this-world cute. I have no idea that the colors and design represent, but I know it's stunning, personal, and unapologetically Macy.
So forget playing it safe. These cakes were loud, playful, unexpected, and so ridiculously Macy and Tex. Your wedding cake is basically edible décor—so let it have a little main-character energy that make guests abandon their conversation and sprint toward the dessert table.
2. Party at the Coffee Cart
Okay the real star of the show is now on the clock. Because no wedding is a true party without a coffee cart—duh!
Macy and Tex got behind the bar with their drinks and turned their Nightowl experience into a full-on photoshoot. That is exactly what we love about coffee carts on wedding day: it brings guests together, gives everyone a caffeine boost, and creates a natural photo op for the bride and groom. With espresso catering, custom drinks, and mobile barista stations, a Dallas-based coffee cart becomes equal parts late-night fuel, hospitality moment, and built-in content opportunity.

3. Change the Dance-Floor Energy
Rhinestone cowboy hats. Light-up sneakers. Have a day, Macy and Tex! Our favorite new couple made the dance floor feel less like a formal wedding moment and more like a real party. Props and shoe changes are simple, but they give guests permission to loosen up and join in.
Whether it is hats, sunglasses, glow sticks, or a late-night sneaker change, these details help turn a pretty dance floor into the part of the night everyone remembers. DJ Rodiii kept the party moving, and the guests did the rest.

4. Hire a Photographer Who Captures Real Fun
Okay, I've seen thousands of wedding galleries over the last decade, but this gallery was special. Honestly, it was one of my top 20 galleries I've ever seen. I think I love it because of how balanced the energy was. I love when a photographer perfectly captures every moment, emotion, and action moment on wedding day.
So here's 5 big booms for Kimberly Harrell Photo + Films, who captured every side of Macy and Tex’s celebration: the bright and airy outdoor moments, the moody coffee-cart poses, and the night-cub energy of the dance floor and sparkler exit.
So when hiring photography, look for the photographer who understands your personality and creates space for you to be perfectly yourselves on wedding day. The best photos come when a great photographer encourages their couples to be real, be authentic, and be themselves—and then doesn't miss a single moment.

5. Have Fun
This is the biggest day of your life and it goes fast. I've been there. So for goodness sakes—have fun! Macy and Tex did just that, which is probably why I fell in love with this couple and their gallery.
Wear the sneakers. Be yourself. Choose the colorful cake. Grab a coffee behind the bar. Put on the cowboy hat. Dance until the sparklers go out. Macy and Tex’s wedding was unforgettable because they did not try to make it look like everyone else’s. They made it feel like theirs and we hop you do the same!
